Jose Angel Soto Jr. Accused Of Raping Child, Harrisburg PD

A 45-year-old man has been charged with multiple felonies in connection with the sexual assault of a child, Harrisburg police announced on Monday afternoon.

Jose Angel Soto Jr. of Wynnewood Road, Harrisburg, was arrested on the following charges on April 15, according to the police and confirmed by court documents:

  • Felony Aggravated Indecent Assault - Complainant Less Than 16 Years Old (two counts). 
  • Felony Unlawful Contact With Minor - Sexual Offenses.
  • Felony Corruption Of Minors - Defendant Age 18 or Above.
  • Misdemeanor Indecent Assault Person Less 16 Years of Age (two counts). 
  • Misdemeanor Criminal Attempt - Indecent Assault Person Less 16 Years of Age.

The charges stem from an incident on March 11, 2024, court records show, but additional details were not immediately available. 

In addition to this case, Soto also has an active case for misdemeanor simply assault and summary harassment for a domestic incident that police were called to on March 8, just days before the alleged sexual assaults, according to court documents and the police. 

His preliminary arraignment is scheduled before Judge Michael Smith for the afternoon of April 15.
